
Meeting the Needs
Shelter guests have a guaranteed bed for 60 days to stabilize from crisis and begin to work toward placement in permanent housing or recovery programming. Overnight shelter includes an evening meal, showers, laundry and breakfast served in the Outreach Center. Shelter guests have access to the Outreach Center resources including appointments with our Community Navigator to help with their transition out of homelessness. Shelter guests participate in the set up, care and cleaning of their space.
Community Shelter
The Community Shelter at Bridge Street Mission is a year-round emergency shelter for those experiencing homelessness in Marathon County. Consistent with our mission statement of “meeting people in crisis and moving them toward success through the power of the Gospel, the Community Shelter will be a temporary solution of a safe and dignified shelter while shelter guests work toward either permanent housing or recovery programming.

Shelter opens 5:30 PM
*Guests have to vacate the shelter premises by 8:00 AM

How is this funded?
Start up funding from the City of Wausau and Marathon County that scales down each year has been provided until the shelter is fully donor supported.
